Almera - Petrol smell

Hello, I have a Nissan Almera 1998 (S reg).
I can smell petrol when standing outside the car.
Not sure if the smell is there when I'm inside the car (as the flange on rear back box exhuast has a slight leak as well).

My understanding is that the main culprits could be:-
1) the pipe that goes from the tank to the filler neck, and is possibly corroded.
Not sure how I could see/check this myself.

2) Or the small breather return hose next to the big filler pipe on the tank has split.
Not sure how I could see/check this myself.

Anyone got any photos of these items and how to gain access to them to check or replace them?

Anyone had these repaired/replaced and what would be the likely cost of these.

Thanks

The way I realised mine was leaking was when I filled the car up and parked it on a curb with the driver side on the curb. Then you can see which it's leaking from as the fuel backs into the pipe.

Obviously I didn't realise mine was leaking at this point, yeah I would say the metal pipe where the bracket is.

Thanks for the replies.

I can't see how to gain access to the pipe. Any ideas?

Are there any photo's anywhere?

Roughly how much is to fix/repair?

No doubt it will be a MOT fail?
Thanks

Take the wheel off and you will either see the filler pipe or you will have to remove the plastic cover to gain access.

I doubt it would be an MOT fail unless you brim the tank just before and they spot it leaking.
