forum categories need addressing

Hello,
As a new member I've been struggling where to place a question. The forum categories appear to be all over the place especially in the technical part. For example abs question place in other almera questions, suspension, exhaust, electrics, you name it its placed in other almera question. if it's not about engine tuning or standard maintenance which refers to oil and filter change. then doesn't have a categories. Wouldn't it be better it technical was broken down into suspension, engine, brakes wheels, for example then once in those break down to n15 16.

It's because non-paid members can only access the 'other' section in the technical forums, so they end up posting in that.

As for breaking down the paid for sections, I agree that would be better, but who do you suggest spends the hours it would take to go through all the threads for move them into each section? We kind of relay on people to title their threads appropriately, but this doesnt always happen so going through all the threads now would be very difficult. I rename a thread with a better tittle when I can.

I've made up the N16 Forum Resources thread to make it easier to find the most up to date and relevant information. If you feel you've found more information, feel free to post up the link and I'll add it to the list. Have you seen the resources thread I mean?

Hey thanks for your reply your forum resources is fantastic its much appreciated and all paid members have a great source of information there. I totally agree with your comments it does take time to sort out things like that. I think half the problem is when you post a serious question most answers are did you use the search function or place it in the question and answer forum. When you have searched your fault and not found anything recent you then ask the question but get told it's in the wrong place for example software to diagnos in other almera is in the wrong area. Not trying to rant or anything lol

No I do understand. Also the forum search is not as good as it used to be either so that can't help. It's not obvious to new people that you 'should' post in the question and answers thread, and the trouble with that is that thread is there's no title thrown up to attract the right attention. You just have to reply on the hope that everyone is looking in the question and answers thread at the right time to see your question.

I must admit it took me an age to govern myself around this forum when i became a new member and yes
The search function is quite shocking to be honest i have "google my info" because i cant find the info im' looking for in here but through "google" it pop's up aoc/thread and i go from there.

Apart from that many a day on here and ive sussed it.:D
