i have a new dvd player all fitted and working good, it will be connected to a carputer as soon as i get my laptop working. Any way my point on this thread is to ask on your opinions on the mounting of the screen. what do you think.

my plan is to make a custom facia, remove the top vents on the center console and have it sticking out the top. and build up behind to smoothen it out! i think it will look good imo! here is some pics of the dash and the dvd player with the screen. with the possible mounting location

i rekon that will look pretty good if its done properly! how come you didnt go for a fold out screen?

cause i can remove this screen from the car aswell as the dvd player front more secure too!
another idea i just had i can use the heating system to blow cold air onto back of screen and dvdplayer too help keet it cool!

the cooling bit won't be necessary imo....but I would put the lcd on my steering wheel

i no but will have the heater vents directly behind the screen so turn the heater on and have cooling not so sure about the steeringwheel mount tho, it wouldn't work cause of the cables

I was just joking with the steering wheel bit mate ...but heater vents do blow hot air when yo ass is cold in winter..so think about that too

damb right. gott fix the laptop first. i will also have the usb lead to the dianogstic port so i can have digital gauges too.

If you really wanted to fit a screen in your car why not buy a motorised one and relocate the dvd player to the bottom spare slot?
