N16 SR16VE

thanks guys!

rich we've had a little play on a private road but only whilst moving, and the ve holds it's own till the jdm limiter kicks in, as for a standing start we'll be heading to crail before the season finishes up so we'll have a better idea then. now if you're talking about through the twisties then nistro's car would have it for lunch, as it's a demon now it's fully polied, and with the coilies and that stance it holds the road like a gocart! I took it for a cross country blat a couple of weeks back and it reminded me of my fully prepped mk2 gti 16v, a great driving car for sure!

kingy you know fine your welcome any time mate :)

I am kinda let down by the aoc today though, as there's not one quip posted about our suggested operating name lol

nah he's the sadist for making me work on n15’s, and i'm the masochist for insisting on fitting the ve dash meaning more wiring without schematics lol

thanks guys! and yeah the unit is awesome, i actually drove the n16 in and did a 5point turn and drove it out, thats how big it is :shades:

matt I can weld myself, I have a good mig welder and we now have a decent unit to do work inside, so if you were me would you pay Nissan prices or in fact pay anyone to do the crossmember? also the crossmember will be done to coincide withe the stroking of the ve and the painting of the engine bay ;)

No i meant that the cross member is covered by a 10 year anti corrossion warranty. So they have to do it for you, free!!

oh nice, never knew that, and I'm still inside the 10years by a few months too, if it wasn't for the other things I'm doing at the same time I'd be on the phone to them by now lol

I was always under the impression the car had to have a full Nissan service history for them to do it? But if not, then I guess that means I can get my rusty arches done for free?....

I was gutted when I swapped to the ve ecu, I used to love the free baguettes but the sushi I now get doesn't float my boat ;(

like most car manufacturers, getting anything done on warranty is an uphill battle, one that I'm not even thinking about taking on lol.

another little update, since the gold alloys on the 'other' mera are fooked but have a cracking set of tyres I'm refurbing an old set if nistro's wheels to swap over too for the time being, not my personal favourite design but I think they'll suit the n16 and will do fine in the interim, once their refurbed of course ;)
