ok so here goes i've recently purchased a 1.5 2002 almera E for the priceley sum of £500. it's got 149,000 miles on the clock, alot i know but makes all the right noises, apart from the noisey water pump bearing. im not planning on keeping the QG15 for long as i have all the parts needed to swap over to the sr20de from a gti. the one thing i do need though is a p11 gt engine mount for the gearbox.
i will be doing all the work myself and take some pics along the way,

work done so far

sr20 engine swap
17" alloys
side skirt's
spoiler
different seat's (the current ones are a light colour and dirty)
fascia and adapter for my alpine head unit


work to do in the near future

4-1 manifold
lightweight flywheel
cams
strut brace
lowering spring's and shocker's
front splitter
ph2 head light's
wind deflector's

i will be going for stock/sleeper look as i dont like the body kit's and stupidly loud exhaust's, i will be getting a free flowing exhaust ,but try to keep it toned down a wee bit.

it's not on the road yet i need to swap the insurance over at the end of the month.

ill get some pic's up asap

nice one, I look forward to seeing another member join us in the sr'd n16 club, and another phil starting with a 1.5e just seems right :)

got some pic's before i went out this morning, apologies for the crappy pic quality . came with a citreon wheel trim lol. bought some cheapo seat cover's yesterday to hide the dirty seat's. not really done anything to it yet apart from clean the engine bay ,need to lower it and get some wheel's asap
 
Looks the part do you have manual wing mirrors, if you are after an electric set in KL0 let me know as have them advertised in my for sale thread?

ill have a look at them , i was going to spray them but make's sense to buy the colour coded one's. will there be a connector on the interior loom for the electric mirror's?
 
the wiring for the switch on the dash seems to be on every car, but not all seem to have the connection in the door for the mirrors, though its easy to check by popping off the interior trim where the manual mirror adjuster is then slightly pulling the door card out and looking down, if the plug is there your sorted

As Phil said and if you require any wiring with the mirrors just give me a shout as can provide the loom from the car as it's no good to me etc?

Yep I know I had bought the same from Rick when fitted to my N16 E last year so I know what needed. Some will have the loom in the doors but it's part of the Nissan lottery to be fair.

i'll just spray the one's i have m8, i've got to spray the spoiler anyway so ill prob get half a litre of klo may do the door handle's while im at it .

I've had to make a new thread as the old one got deleted, i've more or less finished the conversion thanks to liam and phil, thanks guy's.

I've got a couple of bit's left to do on it like the gti gear selector will need modifying to fit. The exhaust may need extending by around 30-40mm from what i can see, and a bit of a tidy with the wiring . i've ordered a six way fuse box from ebay need to wire the ign live's through it for a neat job.

I did'nt get a lot of picture's during the build, but i have a few of the mounting point's and how the engine sit's.

the welding does'nt look that good but it's been arc welded and it's solid .
 
nothing has been deleted, it will still be here but in the "restored" forum (which you cant see at the moment)

We will slowly restore everything.
 
just bought some skirt's in black that need spraying ,but i want to spray both bumper 's ,bonnet and tail gate because there quite scratched . been quoted £50 for litre of KLO starburst with thinners and laquer. cant justify buying tin's from halfraud's at £7.99 a tin. never used a spray gun before but i've got a mate who knows what he's doing , he's going to let me use his workshop and help me with the spraying.

just need a spoiler and a front splitter , im going to colour code the bump strip's on the door cause they look crap.
 
nice work bud, one thing though there's a similar mistake to what Liam did on his swap, in how far the driver side mount hangs over the chassis rail, though yours is farther out as the mounting bolt centre line looks to be overhanging the rail, i suppose i can take the blame for not posting pics when we worked this mounting option out, but I can't see how his and your gearbox mounts are sitting properly with the drivers mount so far over? as that should have been your guide for placing the drivers side mount.

for the gear linkage if you can get a hold of some ph1 n16 diesel selectors it will save you chopping, lengthening and welding the gti ones :)

It over hangs because its on the wrong way round. Should be turned 180* and itll sit fine. I realised after putting the engine bck in and couldnt be bothered to take it back out to turn the bracket.
