Look at the front of the gearbox for a 13mm bolt and thick cable. That's the earth strap. Remove it all and check it for breaks.
and yup the AFM is the MAF, give that a spray with contact cleaner.
True, but the setup before with the 2JR joints and boots they were only lasting a couple of months. At least this new stuff should last longer, and that's what we're trying to do just make it last as long as possible.
What? We didn't get them made. We just found some rose joints that fitted. As Rich said it's better for us to source from the UK, but aside from that we didn't actually know about 2JR offering an upgrade, but theirs is 3-4 times the price anyway...
No I only just finished it, I was out today so did this this evening. Alignment tomorrow and will report back in a few weeks of use. Feel so much better about these joints and the boots though, should be a good upgrade.
So 2JR's anti-bump steer track rod end rose joints were pretty weak and not well protected. Rich and I decided to find upgrades, with better boots too. Here's before and after

It is possible, I have done it with mine. But it's not easy peasy. Using the FSM and wiring diagrams you have to convert it to the phase 1 controls which were manual. Easiest way would be to find a phase 1 manual control car that's being broken and grab the whole interior loom and controls from...
