no I measured all the old flat shims and they were all 3mm! bang on I think 2 0r 3 were 3.05mm

gap between the rocker and shim? the rocker sits on the shim. the hydraulic lifters sort the cam lash out the only thing you need to measure is the shim heights are identical across the rockers

I just hope it runs after all this..

more work.. I checked the valve seal against the head with white spirit.. filled them then went for a bacon sarni.. not a drop came through so next up was bleeding the lifters.. I think I got more oil on the bench but got them done :D After that I got on with sorting the shims after...
