If it's like the N16 ecu there is a pretty specific pattern of 'normal' driving that resets the warning light eventually for some faults. You can clear the fault with the right obd2 device or, if it's like the N16, with a paperclip...

Laminex is pretty thick which is a win for protection but not so good for application to tricky shapes. Even doing N15 fogs was a fiddle. Might be more pliable with heat but wouldn't want to do anything more complex than fogs or headlights with it. There are about 4 shades of Laminex smoke but...

Lovely looking snow-plow you have there :-) Give tinting spray a go. Lots of light coats then a good polish. More subtle and refined than Laminex if you get it right and you can precisely choose how dark you go. Laminex is better for protection but that's only relevant on the front.
