Fixing will make the MIL go out but i don't think it will clear the fault code by itself, you have to either clear it or have someone do it..

I've had that problem before. It was that relay, shorted it and now the windows work even with the key out of ignition, which for me it's nice because sometimes i realise that i forgot to roll up the windows, and i can do it without taking the key out of the pocket... Nevermind that red wire...
