Well I fitted a VLSD box last weekend along with a new clutch pressure plate to replace the tired one I had installed.
Id noticed this week that going into 5th felt a bit rough when moving the gearstick over to the right, then today whilst driving I went to select 4th and it just wouldnt find it, like it was hitting something, when letting go of the gear stick it was staying completely to the right, between 5th and reverse.
Initially rather pissed off, I checked the return spring expecting it to have vanished or twisted or something but it was still in place, fearing I would have to remove the gearbox yet again! (4th in as many weeks)
I had a look in a gearbox I had already stripped down and noticed something that could potentially be the cause.
Upon removal here is what I found
Have now swapped in a spare from another box and all is well.
I have NEVER seen one of these fail before... its completely seized in place....
Then I surfed a tank...
