Induction kit

Can anyone tell me if an induction kit made any difference to power ? .... Im thinking of putting one in my n16 nissan almera but many websites says its just a waste of time ,...advice is needed ! Whats the advantages of an induction kit besides that addictive sound it gives of !!
 
The difference it would make is negligible. Most of the time it's the illusion of more power because of the extra noise and generally because you'd be more likely to floor it to produce the louder grunt the induction kit gives

Thats True i got a MR2 Turbo Apexi filter on my ( Custom made plate to fit it ) Sounds lovely but not much difference in performance or fuel economy lol

I thought that moving through the revs was smoother with an induction kit in my 1.5 and 18 N15s but not £100 smoother. Not much point without other mods. Good panel filter.
 
i just removed all the air box mufflers and now its sucks straight into the filter box. along with a decent KN panel filter i get the awesome induction noise and small amount of acceleration increase
 
:DI changed the filter n put a cone filter ....I left the airbox that sits behind the front bumper n fed the outlet pip straight into the cone top ....the roar I get from 2500rpm...epic as for power the is a difference and car revs up quicker
