Well the lad has been using the almera for 2 months now and he loves it. No oil level issues ( doesn't seem to use any engine oil at all ) and no exhaust smoking, thank god. Performance is improving along with good fuel economy.
However, in down pours of rain the rear lhs passenger foot well becomes a swimming pool, no wonder that that side had corrosion problems eh! self draining due to corrosion!!
Anyways, removed door card, hosed door from outside and saw niagra. Cut and fitted several bits of blue plastic sheet inside door to act as deflectors and hey presto, a sahara footwell.
Water was flowing towards the oe membrain, collecting in the "well" between membrain and door, and dribbling out thru a "crack" in the membrain "sealer" and into the car via the door card, overflowing past door rubber seal and down onto floor. There are drain holes to stop this but cracks in membrain sealer allowed water to drain into car.
