My QG18DE powered pulsar Q

Welcome mate! :)

I've seen a couple of cars over in the PGA forums with turbo conversions. Big project but good move ;) Looking forward to see what you do to it.

Nice colour btw :thumb: same as mine

Welcome to the AOC forums mate. wish I had a QG18DE instead of the QG15DE.
never knew they had hatches over there too :-) would love to see the results

:welcome: to the proverbial AOC - where N15's are worshipped and N16's are ridiculed and spat on... To some extent they have a point but anywho...

Nice to see another N16 owner on the forums  nice, clean car! You doing the turbo conversion similar to Rasoo's? I can remember reading that (extensive) thread on how he done it bit by bit too... Made for quite a read!

Any q's just ask dude - ultimately we are all here to help n contribute and failing that we'll crack a funny...

yea, similar set up to rasoo's.

actually i bought his old manifold, turbo and dump pipe, due to him upgrading to a tuned length manifold, and t28. i understand that he has now sold the car.

i am going on a trip to ireland in june, and just in the process of doing alot of research, before then, so i can come back and take the car off the road, to have it all completed. the n16 its ridiculed here in australia aswell. wish we had the qr25 like the us blokes :( that would have shut them up

hah, that yellow n15, photo taken next to my car, on a PGA cruise. my photo is now my avatar photo.

Shouldn't really be an issue sourcing and fitting one of those engines - the QR25DE is the same 2.5i petrol unit they shove into the X-Trails so only thing you'd possibly need is the gearbox and driveshafts from a Sentra SE-R Spec V (so you get the close ratio 6 speed box with LSD)

true. i have read all this aswell.

however, i think going the tried and tested method of bolt on turbo, is the easiest and most cost effective route.

Well thank you - its a combined advantage of: -

1) No money which leads to,
2) No social life which leads to,
3) Worryingly high amounts of time on the internet which leads to,
4) Getting asked shed loads of questions which forces you to make up a thread containg all the FAQ's

In other words, not getting out much helps with the knowledge lol

haha yea,

sounds like me, although i do have a little bit of money to throw around. but at the moment, its going on air fares, and savings to spend while over in ireland.

AOC i am finding is alot better source for my n16 hatch, over PGA, due to most of the n16 owners on pga are sedan, and most on AOC are hatch, however, due to be being half way around the world, and having different legal requirements, sifting through all this information is a PITA.

i'm wondering, and hoping that the aussie importers of tein, will be able to make me up some coilovers consisting of the b15 fronts, and n15 rears, but i highly doubt it.

Get writing to TEIN regarding that - you never know you could possibly do some beta testing for that combination, of which could possibly set up a new application for the N16 ;)

yea, i'll give them a ring on monday, because i doubt they will be open on a saturday. but if the fronts bolt straight in, and the n15 s1 uses the same shocks/springs as the n16, well technically it should be a no brainer.

if you look in my suspension thread aswell, where i think all this suspension info should be and is, i think the b15 tein rears suffer the same problem as the k-sports with the lower bush. but apart from that, they look awfully similar.

just re-red your post.

yes australia was lucky enough to get the hatch, in 5 door only, as per the n15. however, i think alot of things were stripped from us. climate control, sat nav(but im reading this will probably be a good thing, due to aftermarket engine management for turbo conversion).

i'll post more pics of the interior, etc, once i've gone and washed it.

yeah I have climate control but no satnav was really happy when I first brought the car now fine out its harder to do a engine conversion. but oh well its life only have to be done once

hey again,

so us over at PGA had a dyno day in sydney on saturday. i figured, my car hadn't been on a dyno for the past 3 yrs, and last time it was on the rollers, it was less than 3 months old.

i got 66.1kw at the wheels back then, and on saturday afternoon i got slightly more, with no extra mods, in being 67.2kw at the wheels.

attached is a photo of my dyno sheet taken on my phone.

its good to see that i havent lost any power at all over the years.
