n16 gearbox

Hi I need a N16 facelift gearbox for a 2003 1.5 Almera, my question is will a year 2001 Almera 1.5 gearbox fit the car? I have seen on a well known auction site they are advertising the gearbox for almera years 2000 to 2006 but not sure if that is right.

It'll fit no worries.

My advice is to source an rs5f70a from a qg18de (1.8l).

There were design flaws in the 1.5l gearbox.
 
thanks for the reply, my friend has a low millage gearbox from a 1.5 2001 almera, I no fitting a qg18ge gearbox will be better in the long run but need the can back on the road ASAP.
 
Yeah it'll fit, just be aware the 2001 box will have a speed sensor fitted but you dont need it on the 2005 model so there wont be a connector for it.
