Which headgasket have you used? Turbo SR's

Hey guys looking into headgaskets at the moment and just hoping for some feedback on what people have used? Also at what power and pressure of boost?

Ive come across apexi, tomei and the stock metal sr20vet gaskets

Thanks

Never been on a rolling road but at 12psi it's probably around 300. I have seen people with big power GTi-R's using them with no issues. It is supposed to be one of the best gaskets to get.

I'm not criticising because this looks like an awesome build but that's way too much power for a FWD Micra. Try running a basic boosted DE first, I bet it would be more than enough!

I might just go for that then, and when you say more than enough what do you mean for? I can build this the way i plan and map it for the horsepower goal then fine tune everything so that it can put the power to the road etc. i really dont wanna do it all twice unless it breaks

87mm is fine. Has been fine on mine for almost 2 years.

I have an 87mm cosworth HG on mine also

Understand your point and at the end of the day it's your car and you can do what you want.

All I'm saying is I've watched the videos of Dave Bulls little bandit and seen how there was no traction till 4th gear, that's not exactly usable is it, but I suppose it all depends what you are going to use the car for.

My full weight Almera with around only 300bhp is quite silly even with a Quaife diff and decent tyres, I can't imagine what it would be like in a Micra that's probably 400kg lighter.

It's a well proven fact that a decent SR20DE with a GTi-R T28 turbo will give very good results and reliability, at least then if anything does break you are only replacing cheap standard parts.

@chunky does that not fit properly? Maybe you got the rwd gasket?

@Spyke everything you say makes total sense, at first i will be heading for the drag strip but plan to track it also. I reckon with proper boost control (which dave never had in his micra) the power can be put down in most gears :)
