The filter is built into the fuel sender assembly inside the tank and is not a service item. When i had a petrol N16 i removed the intank filter and installed an inline one in the engine bay.

Best start as i mean to go on. Spruce things up a bit. Stay tuned.

N16 dCi 136 is the only N16 to buy. Avoid the petrol ones. Diesel is the way forward. Owning both N16 dCi and N15 GTi, the N16 is far nicer to drive, more comfortable and more economical. The N15 is probably slightly faster flat out but for a daily driver N16 dCi is the way to go.
