Almera Tino 05 Centre Console Not Working

So there I was driving along listening to my CD when the CD Player and Centre Display which shows the time, radio, blowers etc went off....

The centre console has three separate items the display unit, the control panel and the CD Player.

The only life I can get from the Control Panel which is the middle of the two is the rear heater ... all other controls are dead...

The heater is stuck on hot blowing and the only way to turn it off is to take the fuses out

My garage recommended a I get an expert car electrical guy out and he said units all have power going to them.

So I assumed it was all to do with the main display or to give it the correct part name: DISPLAY ASSY-AV so off to EBay I went and bought another one....installed it today and still nothing...

I really do not want to take it to a dealer as Im told that will cost me a fortune.

PLEASE help!

Dave

Odd one that. I'm afraid its not common so I think you might be on your own with this and yes get Nissan or car electrician on it.

Or you could buy replacements on ebay.

Audio is coded so if you did the latter you need to get Nissan to code it in for you for about £40.

Thank you for your prompt reply :)
I have just ordered the Control Panel (Model No CSW-8230D (EU) off EBay and if that doesn't work I will have no option but to buy the CD Player next. (And you just know this wont fix it..but heck I have to try)

With regard to the audio code... is that something they do over the phone and if so have you any idea where the cheapest place is to get it?

Again thank you very much for your help so far :)

Its something you would have to take your car down to a dealer for them to do unfortunately.

After getting it coded by Nissan? What did they say might be the problem if its still not working?

I thought if it needed coding from Nissan it would say "SECURE" on the display, so if that's not even working there may be something more sinister afoot.

Are there any fuses relating to the display unit in the fusebox?

How's about these fuses?

I would assume checking fuses would have been the first port of call.

First thing I learned in IT was always check the basics, which is why we always say to turn it on and off again first! :D

I think that normally when you change the CD Player a message is shown on the display saying "Secure"
I cant see any messages as all three units are dead... the only thing working is as I said previously "The only life I can get from the Control Panel which is the middle of the two is the rear heater ... all other controls are dead..."

I am absolutely rubbish when it comes to cars! I am aware that there are fuses under the bonnet/hood and some below the steering wheel and assume these were checked by the Car electrical guy... don't forget he said all units had power going to them...
Any idea where these fuses are located?

Thanks again

I would also like to point out that my car does NOT have the SAT NAV but assume the fuse diagram would also be used for the normal display.

And last but by no means least I would like to thank everyone who has and continues to try and solve this .. you are good people :)

Thank You

Dave

The fuses should be the ones below your right knee if you're sitting in the driver's seat. Check all of them to make sure none are blown :)

PROBLEM:

The only life I can get from the Control Panel which is the middle of the two is the rear heater ... all other controls are dead... and the CD player wont eject the disk...

The heater is stuck on hot blowing and the only way to turn it off is to take the fuses out

FIX:

Took it to the dealership and they found that the units only had 5 volts going to them.

They stripped back the wiring loom and found two broken wires in the engine bay loom. They soldered in new lengths of wires, insulted them and tested them and now its all working!

Hope this helps someone :)
