Eddies Ride

Ross has nothing nice to say about anyone's threads, i dont get it - seems pointless.

more or less $$$ spent doesn't directly mean better finish or better vaule

why not use the smoothed doors and have the boot lock kept? have it moved so its out of sight, just a thought?

I did ask you details of where you got it done etc, but you said why would I wana travel all the way upto Scotland? If it cost you less then £250 for a full respray don't you think I might not care how much petrol costs lol!

actually someone else said why would you wanna drive up.

the name of the place i got it done is on here but if you want the details, PM me.

love you too david...

eddie please keep the shit talk to a min - please.

do what you do, but no need to justify how/why you mod your car to anyone on this forum.
david

forgive me dave but im sure most the ideas on this forum have come about from discussions not individual thought

Fact being eddie, yes ovens make for better painting, but theres a bodyshop round here thats been going for donkeys years and he hasnt got an oven. But yet he has one of the best reputations going. Its not all down to the equipment, its the sprayer that makes the job good or bad :)

Like they say, the proof is in the pudding!

I kinda like the door locks, I know what a fully flush rear end looks like and its what I want. Move it where? cant be out of sight really as you need to use it to put a key in incase of a flat battery lol. Smoothed doors might be perfect for someone else.. but for me it doesn't suit my needs simple :cowboy:

Try not to be so condescending, I know you need it for opening the car when the battery is flat, I didn't say put it somewhere you cant put the key! I meant put it somewhere where it won't draw attention like tucked in beside the reg plate, hell even behind the reg plate and have it so that it just clips off when you need to access it! I just offered it as an alternative

I thought he was doing it cheap too to try and promote, and generate a reputation?

just a note on ovens. At my place of work we use a huge spray booth with bake function for the MOD systems. The bake mode can only be switched on when the booth is sealed and no one is inside as it recirculates the air to get it hot. the oven isnt on when spraying as the sprayer would die.

Any idea when this respray could go ahead ed?

Re paint front, found out something of interest. The guy was explaining why he needed to blend the panels, some cheap spray shops using low powered spray guns aren't spraying out the paint with much pressure. The silver in the paint which gives the metallic edge comes through more on a lower pressure gun and you get a lighter shade of BS7 *Explains the lighter shade BS7 myth. Where as he uses proper spray guns at the right pressure, getting a more oem level of finish & better matching :)

lmao some of the best guns on the market are hvlp, and all sprayers use them, and it's nozzle size as well as pressure that decides how much metalic flake comes through ;)

So you're putting in XXkgs of sound deadening to quieten things down, yet you have a 3" exhaust and now you are going to cut out the bonnet brace which will make the bonnet skin vibrate/rattle like a bastard. And heres me thinking im a bit odd??

I wouldn't removed the bracing on the bonnet tbh.

'Nismo' - guy on here - had smooth booth and doors. He got around the issue by having two prongs under the bumper to attach jump leads to.
