oh, and I should add that all quotes I have had for the Skoda (flux, direct line, confused, compare the market, money supermarket) are at least 100 quid more than the mera.

If you insure it with Admiral, the first payment will be like a normal monthly one.
Then when you cancel it's £20!
OR... Just ask them for temp cover prices as my mera was £15 a week to insure for me, (23, 3y NCB, 6points).

Just googled the specs for the sdi and the ickle 1.4 3 cylinder tdi canes it with better economy-not sure what VAG were thinking putting the 1.9sdi in a car..
