Mapper Database

Right I'll update this first post as and when the information arrives.

Could people state who they've got their ECU installed/mapped so that others like me can see who knows what they're doing and weigh the difference of price over results. At the moment for every 2 good recommendations I've got for some people I've got 1 bad non-recommendation back.

you can have the best branded parts money can buy, but if the guy mapping it is crap then the product is worthless.

Steve Sadler - FC Tuning

London based uses nistune and knows his shit :)

either £400 or £450 fitted and mapped on a dyno then road test with appropriate mapping, you are with him the whole time and he talks you through everything. If on the road test there is something you are not happy with he will endeavour to sort it :)

Spent most of saturday with him, watching him tune some other motas, and one of the Dutch P11 guys mota, and was impressed by his work.

I know a lot of the guys at Wallace, including Russ Paton who now works at DASTEK HQ in Dalgety Bay.

Great at what they do!

However, as for mapping and work in general, AVA gets my vote.

There is nothing they they can't do and Alan (the bossman) is a fucking genius!

£30 for a dyno' power run and £60 for a one hour mapping session.

As for work, I do not know, but the quality of work is outstanding.

Any ideas if he's booked out this December, send him a nudge for me?

Never heard of AVA, would they come down as far as London?

Cheers to all of you guys by the way, I'm hoping to get mine mapped before Christmas but want to get it right first time.

Thanks Bud, I've e-mailed Steve, hopefully he's free in December.

It's basically whoever's free first, I've already decided what I want.

I've been recommended to Steve @ FC before & spoke to him earlier this year.
Another guy I'd have no hesitation in recommending is Henry Roy in Paisley, Glasgow. He specialises in Honda Vtec, but has done many other cars sucessfully - from Peugeots, to Fords, etc. He has an excellent reputation amongst many of the central belt club members.

Which is the best platform, Dastek or Nistune

Wondering if one had limitations the other did not, if looking to up the rev limit on a SR20DE ECU both can acceptive this?.. Remember someone saying something about needing to change the crystals? :eek:nline2long:

Cheers, I’ll give him a call later.

Right after a numerous e-mails to Steve and one really long phone call I’m back to square one. I’m very keen to get it done at FCtuning and Steve’s free in December however, I cannot afford his rates (over £425).

The confusing thing is that he cannot use my GTi ECU and that it would’ve been easier to use an eManage (sold earlier this year) or a VE ECU (sold last week), really wish I never sold them and now I’m faced with having to source another different SR20DE ECU from Oz(another £250 just to attain)?!?!

Do I get one tuner to install it and pay another £300 for a remap with FC or do I stay with FC and risk the cost spiralling to £700/£800+. One thing’s for sure, I’m gonna cry if I end up spending the same for a standalone! Suggestions anyone?
