My PH2 GTI

Got my Ph2 GTI Rolling roaded today, after racing a golf TSI, and beating him lol! so i was curious about the power of my car. With Mods (Stainless Cat back Scorpion system, 4 Branch Manifold, De-Cat, HKS induction) the car made 165.5 bhp, which i was happy with. First run, the guy said the car was running VERY lean, so the Air flow meter was cleaned, this gave a 25bhp gain, and my lean problem was cured :-)

Going to order an uprated clutch and flywheel now :-)
 
would have loved to have gotten my GTi on the rollers see what it made :(

yea i was very surprised in a good way tho lol, never thot it wud be that. the blinding colouration of the car is the work of Autoglym super resin, then a coat of Maguires tech wax lol! i highly recommend.

Any1 got opinions on Flywheels and cluthes? are they worth uprating?
 
definately worth it, a normal exedy clutch should be fine though, get on the xtd groupbuy, had a fidanza flywheel and ACT clutch on my old gti was a brilliant improvement :)
 
yea i posted up ther on the group buy askin if any places open, seems a pretty good price for an XTD one, that stuff usually doesnt come cheap. I can get a clutch with thicker liners for 65+vat, im thinkin bout buying that along with the flywheel.
so u wud recommend it then?

didnt expect the torque curve to look like that, i thought SR20 torque curve are pretty flat?
 
yea thats ryt, its on the gen 1 Diayamas, was havin a look @ other pplz torque curvs there for the SR20, seems pretty similar. Maguires cleaning gear is the shit, can even make a faded red almera look nice lol!

It seems dave has got competition then as his red mera is not the only gleaming one :lol:
 
^ word up fella. beautiful run 165bhp is purrrrfect for the current mods. apart from the lean running, which is now sorted what did he say the engine could do with now? 145whp is shockingly high tho?!

ps loving the red of the paint work, good to see another pukka red mera :)

145whp seems about right to me ( for a healthy engine ). Cams would give another 10-12whp.

Interesting about the MAF. Did it feel quicker after the clean?

Good power figure for the mods you've got.. Could do with a bit more torque though ;)

Cheers lads. Im happy wit the result. Going to join the group buy for the flywheel, got a new uprated clutch ready to be orderd, think cams is my next step :-) Need more torque as shaggy has said, n e ideas to gain this? cams? lol!

And yea, the car seems to be alot more responsive, after cleaning the airflow meter, doesnt hold back as much now, pulls way better :-)

Hardc0re_tid is not going to like wot im about to say but . . . thnk im gona give the car another service very soon, try to do it every 2-3k i to try an keep the engine healthy
 
its not the 165bhp you should be happy about, its the 145whp that is damn good and thats were it matters, bhp is just an estimate, good figure man :)
