Finally my Escort Mk2 is now making progress. The shell has started being fa

bricated this week and is well on it's way. Hoping to order the Ve RWD conversion stuff soon once I get some payments in and then get the engine built. Will keep this updated as much as possible Pic heavy but here goes.

4 door shell bought in 2011 and stripped :

Underseal all stripped off :

Ready for sandblasting :

After sandblasting :

At the fab shop :

Front end top plated, gusseted and seam welded :

Rad cut out and seam welding :

Reart turret and seam welding :

4 link boxes, turrets and seam welding

No was just waiting on a slot to get it fabricated. Bloke at Wales Motorsort Fabrication is busy as hell so was biding my time. Work is awesome. Even did a mk1 shell for M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson!!!

The workmanship on the bodywork looks fantastic, i'm impressed.

I love the MK2's and fitting a 16VE sounds like you could be onto a winner. I look forward to watching this project unfold!

Few more jobs done. Firewall, diff tunnel, chassis legs skidded and some more seam welding.

Parts now ordered from G-Spec and Mazworx for the engine so waiting on the arrival of them parts to do the engine.

Superb. If I had to work for the next 60 years in that shop I'd die happy. Looking forward to the engine build though. Have you sold that RWD block yet?

Engine won't be much. Will be pretty standard aside from the exhaust, management and throttle bodies.

Do you mean FWD block? Need the RWD block. FWD went around November time
