The SEX... lol

nice progress you got there :) Noticed any performance changes after intercooler upgrade? More turbo lag or smoke? That crossmember looks just the same as ph1 did.. and I though ph2 were better protected from salty roads, guess not.
At present the only difference I can note is a low speed or after unexpected braking then acceleration there appears to be more lag than before but that's more down to being used to not needing to press the loud peddle as much. As for smoke when driven hard about the same but I've never had much smoke out the back end thanks to Forte flushes etc. defo need hybrid fitted plus larger diameter exhaust to match the work already carried out.

Ok well time for a few updates following some cosmetic work that was carried out on the motor in the past couple of weeks. Firstly my old modified bumper with EDK open grill conversion needed a mould to be made so that we wouldn't need to cut the old bumper up to install on the recently acquired bumper.

After finding a local company to make said mould and a copy of the original open grill we were in a position to start work on the install. image of original, mould and copy.

Yes the new bumper is a phase 1 with the very rare MS Design front splitter/valance fitted (thanks Liam). Wonky intercooler dirty bumper but overall the front end was starting to look as I first intended it to do.

Unfortunately the bumper sat proud above the wings and some finishing works were needed to ensure the bumper would remain shut and not wobble at high speeds. (ignore the socks and sandals - John)

Thanks to a good idea from Ed bonnet catches were ordered to resolve any possible wobble from the fibreglass bonnet. Trial fit of the rear bumper with N15 GTi phase 2 bumper splitter.

Next up was the install of some VZR side skirts these were initially to go on another members motor but that didn't work out and here is a few pictures. It was also decided to install the skirts over the existing side skirts to allow for additional strength and an increase in fixing points as per to OEM.

Brake calipers in need of some love but time was against us, so still on the to do list also the bonnet needed a little more prep before painting so it was decided to just matt black it for Japfest.

Thanks for looking still need a few bits sorting in the coming weeks such as the bonnet, colour coding the door handles, raising the coilovers and tinting the rear lights and indicators will update more once this are completed

I love the look and big thumbs up & thanks to EDK as without his vision & drive this mod wouldn't have been out there and this so is one of the ways how Nissan should've had the insight to make the N16 rather than the bland SXE!

Think a more metallic darker grey is needed for the alloy wheels or maybe I'm still so used to the black ones that were on there?

Nice work! I saw you pulling into the Little Chef car park at 7am, but never got round to finding you on the stand. Good to see the pics now though. Has come a long way since I last saw it with the pink centre caps and gear knob! ;)

I agree about the wheels. At the moment it almost looks like they're trying to be colour coded to the body, but with a bad match of paint. Have you considered just silver? Or is that too OEM?

These are my Primera winter wheels and go well with the colour of GTT, but I think don't work as well with the Techno grey. They went on as tyres were illegal on the black twist alloys but I think a darker grey will work. I have another set in silver but didn't really think silver would set the rest of the car off as I am wanting.

Really pleased to see those VZR skirts done and on an N16 :) Kudos to John for finishing the job.

Seeing the open mouth on KY5 and Nissan Enkei wheels brings back memories

Ed I remember JF2 all those years ago as I was parked next to ya in the un modded E and the combo was a good one for sure. I'm not sure if silver Enkei's are the way forward or darker grey ones would suit more?

I photoshopped lots of different colours, but keeping them silver worked best. White could work but a pain to keep clean. I was going for OEM+ fresh then though so they suited that look. You do what you want.

Silver is growing in me and as I have a set can throw them on with no hassle. Think a anthracite colour will suit also thoughts?
