My New Car...

So I have been away from N15 ownership for the last 6 months now. rolling around in a 1.3 Micra that paid for itself in parts it had stuck to it.

The intention was to drive the Micra until i was debt free, expecting this to take AGES. however thanks to a big kick of overtime and a few good bonuses I was able to clear it in about 4 months and was in the market for a new car. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted and i looked at a few before the perfect one came up, and ended up traveling to Poole, Dorset to buy it.

Its a 2005 Toyota Corolla T-sport, Converted by TTE to the compressor edition.

Specs as it left TTE:

1.8L VVTL-i engine with Roots type supercharger, producing 225hp @ 7800rpm / 169ftlbs torque @ 3600rpm
Eibach shocks and springs all round (lowered 10mm compared to a T-Sport)
Twin exhaust tailpipes
Ally top strut brace
2 x lower front 4 point braces
Mocal 12 row oil cooler and thermostatic sandwich plate
TTE rear diffuser
"lightweight" 17" multispoke alloys with 225/45/17 tyres
Larger brakes with stock calipers pushed out further (not sure on size tbh)

My plans are simple... leave it as it is until the "common faults" manifest.

the exhausts have a tendancy to snap, as they are cantilevered by design, so it'll be a new catback when it breaks.
the eibach shocks have been known to break early on too, so if these go it will be BC's as the OEM replacements are discontinued.
finally i will probly fit a K&N filter for whiney noise goodness.

Nice dude I do quite like them similar shape to the fiesta ST.. quite a rare car by all acounts too only 250 compressor models were made origonally don't know how many conversions like you have had done there have been though.

His is a proper one, they were all 'converted'

Im not sure. The compressors were released in 2006, mine was registered sept 2005. Unless it was pre-registered then selected by tte, but the guys at jae said pre registered ones all start with gp.

Mine also has a tsport spare in the boot, whereas the 2006 ones i seen came with a 5th multispoke

Ahh interesting, I didn't know they were 'converted' by Toyota!

My mate has one, and had the exhaust snap on it, but they are stupid quick for what they are!

I R Jelly.

some 20mm spacers are all id want if i were in your shoes.. it looks mint other than needing the arches filled slightly.. :D

check the charger oil level and gasket.

good mate of mine has one which cost him £1800 in repairs within the first 4 months. smart looking however too many problems for my liking.

hence why I went for one with good pedigree.

I.E 7 Toyota service stamps in the book and 26,000 miles on the clocks.

Few updates on this.

Someone crashed into it during the snow a few months back. repaired through insurance with no issue so I not have a shiny new genuine Toyota bumper for it, which suits me as there was a few marks / touch ups on the original bumper.

Had an annoying knock which was slowly worsening, which was tracked down to a bad strut top mount (at 30k miles!) so this was replaced with a KYB part, which is of a better design with a sealed top bearing rather than the open bearing that the OEM was.

Sneaky pic of the stock Eibach's

while underneath the car i got a few snaps of some of the fancy stock upgrades:

here you can see the front 4 point brace and a 2 point brace slightly further back, oil filter just next to the jacking point for possibly the easiest oil filter change I've ever done.

Thermostatic oil filter sandwich plate for the oil cooler:

more recently, i decided to finally fit the uprated brass shifter cable bushes that i have had for nearly 5 months.

Stock bushes removed:

Had to turn down one of the bushes as it was about 0.5mm too big. Scott couldnt do it till thursday so ghetto tools out.

Perfect fit now.

Back together with a K&N panel filter in place

All done

Smoother into gears now. well worth the $20 spend for the parts and the 15 mins fitting them.

Next job is a Major service including:

Lift bolt replacement
Oil and filter change
Cabin filter
Gear oil change
Brake fluid change to Dot 5.1
Supercharger oil change
And a few other misc bits and bobs.

Also booked in to custom Phil this Saturday coming for a 2.5" Catback with a pair of boxes instead of the cantilever shit it currently has.
