So i'm currently rebuilding my engine from a bare block up and to compliment it and clean up the engine bay I decided to get hold of some overnight parts from japan on my tab at harries..
inside is a lovely new inlet manifold
being as all the instructions are in Japanese Iv had an evening of putting it together and trying to see where all the bits go..
first of is the task of removing all the parts I needed off the standard inlet.
IAC
Temp sensors
Brake servo barb
and the all important injectors
so with those bits off I started to dress the manifold.. front side first I had heard the older ones have trouble with the fuel rail not fitting.. but I found they fit like a glove..
You get a nice selection of vacuum fittings to try and decipher where they fit..
obviously all the fittings were fitted with PTF tape as air leaks are not a nice thing to try and find!
so here's the front side finished
the IAC valve fitted.. I used a new paper gasket plus a very thin smear of sealant here as this is most likely to be the source of any air leaks come installation..
the back has lost of BSP ports for vacuum take-offs and also a BSP port for an extra water temp sensor as I don't need them these were blanked off with the supplied plugs..
and for an added 60WHP genuine greedy vacuum pipe..
as you can probably tell I have not fitted the throttle body.. I am planning on fitting a FWD N/A TB because as you can see it is allot bigger :-
but the manifold I had sent seems to be the variant that is made to fit the very hard to find SR16VE N1 throttle body.. so this weekend is going to be spent making some form of adapter plate..
you can see the different in bolt PCD here
so that's it for now
