STOLEN 99' Spec Almera GTi

can't sadly compare different dyno outfits Ian.

any proof of the asp v ebay on a 10.1 DE Ian?
any proof of this 'people question the Hi-Tech figure'?

you will sadly always have discrepancies with people experiances with any service industry, however the majority can't knock mick's work.

no one questioned my Hi Tech 166bhp figure or Joe's 155bhp or my lil bro'd corolla 190 t-sport putting down 189bhp *1 week after i layed down 196bhp SAME place, same tester............

repeat visit, 30hp gain seems simple enough to me. you are more than happy to accept 12hp gain over standard *155bhp with only decat pipe, timing and 3.4bar fuel  seems you accept what you want to accept Ian.

Find me another 180lb torque result with bolt-ons. Find me any sr20build with 180lb. There's all the evidence you need.

You talk shit Dave.

You yourself said your brother's corrolla ran a lower figure then the operator adjusted some settings and it made a considerably higher one...

I'm not talking about my previous results. I didn't have BIG cams on my old spec, or tune my fuel pressure to get a higher reading.

lets - what mods did you have at Aldon? because over my daily they accounted for all of 6bhp * if thats what you looking at - peak power. wouldn't be worth you touching your fuel or timing as its map'd iirc, my stock ecu need'd some help lol................

adjusted at at Aldon, not hi tech

find me another 10.1 DE with the mods i had and i might be able to.............. the graph print out is there in black and white

192bhp @ 17* ignition advance, however at 19 there gains everywhere. now, back in the day i myself from the graph said 180tq, however i might have been out by a tad either way it's still way up there. whatever the lb-ft figures is, the 196bhp @ 6400rpm is what it is.

I'll be up for an AOC, 1 mile stretch, DE only race and see if it really is producing those fiqures and if you can beat my 171.9bhp amd 153.6flb? Because on paper you should make a clean pull. ..... :)

....phone....

^ i sadly dont have the asp header any more, so not a 190bhp+ engine

You talk shit Dave.
They're good cams, and it's a very good header. I'm sure if i fitted one to mine i'd gain 5ish peak HP. Thats realistic.
PS. The Ebay header makes more HP than the ASP
Soooooooo if fitted to yours the asp would make a touch more power, however the eBay header makes more than the asp. Why not go back to an 2.5’ eBay header then?...........

Riddle me this. Joes car with JWT S3R’s, eBay header, pulleys, timing, afpr, cat back, flywheel ran what time on ¼ mile? Then later with only asp header and cat back ran what time? Sorry but all things being equal the asp header made up on its own for eBay header, afpr, pulleys and shitty jwt’s.

if i were an outsider looking at this discussion, way id see it was an almera GTi with a few goodies makes 166bhp at any given outfit, (don't know if this rolling road setup is good, crap or a waste of money) the owners club and npoc agrees 166bhp yeah seems about spot on for the condition of the engine and breather mods. after all another SR20DE made more power with similar mods on the day, so not a freak engine.

the following year he returns to the same rolling road outfit, with 3 more engine mods. a what has to be said a pretty special looking header that ticks all the box, stepped, equal length, fully merged, 3' downpipe. a set of cams rated in both the US and AUS (when tested in non RR form, made more hp than the S3's top end and fore more of the rpm) and 2 piece UR pullies, tried and tested to gain hp across the rev range ie another very good mod. at the second visit the car makes 30hp more, same location, tester, wheels, tyres, pressures, gearbox.

now the forum wont hear of it, for the reason that these powers had never been seen with an unopened DE neither had the header or cams in UK and further more this DE should be alot quicker on 1/4 mile. both valid points however more bhp doesn't mean quicker 1/4 mile FACT!!

case in point; vvlwezz with 157bhp ran 14.7 or 14.8sec iirc 1/4 mile back in the day, while tommo with 171bhp ran mid 15's. both of which bhp figures considered to be fair by both the forum and thier owners.

if you have an issue with 196bhp you must have also have an issue with 166bhp the year before at the same rolling road. had hi tech for whatever reason wanted to up' my figure, why not up joe's 155bhp with bolt on's. or why not up' my brothers corolla 190 t-sport with mods, instead of a very accurate 189bhp with back cat and blitz panel filter *standard 187bhp, wow 2bhp gain rock on!!!!

I like how you use my figures and times dave :) i feel special. Love you lots

My run compared to tommos is a bit unfair though because him and his car were juicy, heavy love walrus' compared to me :) even if he was 14hp up on me

Im not pissing on your fire though bro, i love your car and thats all ive got to say on the matter
