N16 DCi-R

Skirts were a factory Nissan option, that my mum bought on top, at the time of buying it.. I'm glad she did, because they look good, and I like them too.. :)

AFAIK - They're rare as shit!
I've never seen another N16 anywhere (not even on the forums) with factory skirts! :)

Hi *waves* :)

Yeah not been on PGA much and yes a lot more has been done :) Thanks.

Don't suppose you could get me a part number for the skirts please? :)

I can certainly try.. :)

I've got some other news for you too.. Reading back through your gear, you're looking for a Whiteline Rear Swaybar?

Well they're also equally as rare as shit!
But there's a bloke selling one on PGA, and cheap.. He's had it for sale for ages. I flogged his strut brace, but didn't have a need for the Swaybar.

Which brings me to the second part of that... I didn't need it cause I used one from an N15.

You can use an N15 Swaybar kit, but obviously it doesn't bolt on completely.. You have to MIG the brackets to the vehicles body.. Which is no biggy really, just not as straight forward is all.

I've had mine for a good 18 months with no issues, and it goes great. The N15 is a better design then the N16 too, it has a much shorter arm length, thus better torsion.

I was going to whack a tech article up here for those interested.

Either way - I can link any of those to you, if you're interested! :)

I always suspected the N15 ones would fit ;) Cheers for the confirmation.

Tech article would be interesting yes please.

Not looking for a rear ARB are the moment but if I did I think I would get the adjustable Progress one

Ahh right yes, just didn't understand the abbreviation :p ... Sorry, I thought you were going by your wish list.

I like how you guys call rear pods "spats" ... I guess you could say its a little bit 'spatstic" ... Hehe :p

Look up spats in Google, they were coverings that went on shoes. I guess in the same way they are little covers that go on bumpers so you kinda see where the terms come from.

To be fair I haven't updated my spec list and wishlist in a good while.

Same with Bar. I guess if old Aus cars only had a bar for a bumper then it makes sense where the name came from as now bumpers do not resemble a bar at all.

Too true.. In saying that, alot of people here do actually refer to them as "bumper bars" and they have been for a long long time. I think the term 'bar' just eventuated from that.

I see your spats argument though, haha.

What's the other one... Oh yes thats right, splitters/lips. What you call a splitter, we'll call a lip. But then I'll call a proper splitter, a splitter.

But technically speaking, the factory 'lips' you get on most cars aren't really splitters, they're usually mainly aesthetic. Hence their referral to lip.

If I see a proper dividing lip & undertray however, I'll refer to that as a proper air splitter.

Wow.. How'd we get onto differing international terms? Haha..

Yes I agree with the splitter term. I tend to vary what I call them depending on the conversation and type of lip/apron/splitter/valance lol. I don't think this one is an international term, just someone's personal interpretation.

Righteo, so... Opinion time. I want yours Mr K.. ;)

I know that there's a high density of Diesel vehicles in the UK because of your emissions standards. In particular with the N16 Almera's, your market received only the YD22 (yes?) - where as we received the QG18.

If you had a choice, which would you pick, and why?

YD22. Better economy, more tuning potential for even greater economy and power. No brainer. We got the QG18 too and I had that choice when I first bought my Almera. I test drove both and chose the YD22...

In fact I'd take the YD22 over most Diesel engines. Only engines I'd rather have would probably be a beemer derv or the last Honda 2.2 one.

But if it were between the YD22 and SR20... that's a toughy.

Yeah I figured you'd say that. The tunability potential & economy would certainly make it a no brainer, I'm sure.

But I had no idea you got both.. There you go! I'm kicking Nissan Aust for not giving us both, I'd take a YD22 option over the QG18 any day of the week.

I actually contemplated a conversion at one point, but I don't see the investment worth the outcome. A better option would be to import a complete package, but alas we cannot import them.

It's funny you said that last part, because that was my next question to you....

Have you driven an SR20DE or SR20DET?

Well I reckon I know what the answer will be haha, but it's interesting to get another's opinion..

Compare DE to YD22 and compare DE+T to YD22 for me?
