I will get the bonnet and tailgate wrapped in grey.
I am also in the process of building a custom intake and air filter which will extend all the way near the front headlight.
I am making a headlight vent to use during 1/4 mile so air is fed direct to the filter.
Similar to this.

If I don't manage to get it all sorted this season.
It will sure be ready for next season.

Technique first dude. :)

But nice finds with teh GRP stuff, I wish i'd bought that peppermint shell when I had the funds!

Nice update this one, they should save you quite a few KG.

Those parts look familiar, VSS Irvine?

Yes the parts were still avilable so thought why not.
This will be the last spending on the car this year.
Will be taking it off road during the winter months then back and ready for 1/4 mile racing and fast road action next spring 2012.
So just stocking up now and build slowly over winter.

May either go to a rwyb this weekend or the October rwyb depending on weather.

If I don't hit the 13's in 2011/12.

I will be SR20VE+T for 2013 fcuk Nos, no not me, Nitrous.

Some good purchases there buddy. It will all help get some off your time. I'm still scepticle about a 13.** with your current engine set-up though. You've got exactly 0.6 seconds to find from somewhere. Like Leem said above really you need more practice at launching etc to optimise the modifications you've made. I'm not being negative by the way just realistic. I genuinely hope you get your times down.

There is a much faster time in your car with a better driver.

You have shown your inexperience already. W

Nos if I give you a fiver on the AOC santapod meet could I have a run in her please :)

I think with these bits added you will feel your car is heading in the direction of a proper little racecar all you need now is a proper loud as fuck drag exhaust ;)

When I get my trailer anyone can drive it so if it breaks I can take it home easily.

Anyway did a test fit today.
Gonna have to get some new bonnet/ tailgate pins, got a feeling it will feel very floopy if not secure at high speed.
So with the wrap and bonnet / tailgate pins etc I willl do this all during the winter months.
Going to put the standard bonnet and tailgate back on for the final rwyb's of the year.

Looks good fitted bud. Is the bonnet 'bad boy'd' or is it just the angle of pic? Also, how come you didnt get GRP doors? They would save you LOTS of kgs :)

It's a bad boy style bonnet not too keen on them.
It's all about weight, looks now go out the window..
The doors were already sold.
On the look out for some.

ooh i nearly had all them grp partsoff martyn a while back

instead of buying anything else though, doors etc get some proper mans cams and/or a header. Then you'll get them 13s

you got any plans to dyno anywhere else? lol. I'd love to see a comparison if you ran it on surrey. Gutted i didn't run mine on the 1/4 now....see hoe easy dem 13s are

13's with under 200bhp, watch boyo..Damm to the cams

for now...

Bet you would'nt even beat my time, all this I would have crap...lol

even with my 1/4 mile virginity, a missed gear and some wheelspin my engine woulda beaten 14.6

jokes aside with the grp parts and some more practice i think you could get high 13s.

look at wezzs he had same spec except 16ve cams. But he had a low rev limit. with easily as light a car as his and a proper rev limit it should be doable.

I've always been taking the times at York with a pitch of salt.
They would not get those times at other tracks.

Wezz 14.01 at York.
Dan 14.35 and 14.55 at York.
Then what tops it is a guy called fastguy on the gtir forums gets low 12,s with a more or less std gtir-246bhp, which is very very hard to do, again at York.
But just to show them, I'll beat those times soon.

Lol. This is getting silly. Now you're blaming strips as an excuse for not getting your target time? Its just sad.
